Delroy Lindo, an actor of the stage, and small and big screen was born to Jamaican immigrants in Lewisham, England. Lindo's family moved several times before settling with his mother in San Fransisco, where he would graduate from the American Conservatory Theater. Although best known for roles in Ransom, Malcolm X and Crooklyn, Lindo was nominated for a Tony for Best Actor in 1988 as Joe Turner.
