Pastor Vernal Harris, an Evangelist minister, draws from his personal experience of losing his two sons to sickle cell anemia, to become an outspoken advocate of hospice care. He and his wife, Narseary Harris, have helped spearhead a movement to dispel negative views about palliative care in African-American communities in Western New York State.
