Carol Wyatt: 35 Years of TV Animation and Film

Legendary film animator Carol Wyatt, who grew up in Louisville, sits down for a conversation with Brooke Keesling, head of animation talent development at Bento Box. Wyatt talks about animation as a profound means of storytelling through color, allowing her to weave narratives through her work on programs such as Rick and Morty, The Simpsons, Rocko's Modern Life, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, the Ricky Gervais Show, Over the Garden Wall and Amphibia. Filmed in November 2023 at the Speed Art Museum in Louisville, Kentucky.

Explore the life and legacy of Kentucky-born author bell hooks, who wrote nearly 40 books and whose work at the intersection of race, class and gender serves as a lasting contribution to the feminist movement. The documentary features selections read by Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer and interviews with feminist activist Gloria Steinem, Kentucky writers Crystal Wilkinson and Silas House, bell's younger sister Gwenda Motley and many others.The program is funded in part by the KET Endowment for Kentucky Productions. Underground: Freedom Stories Along the Borderlands

The documentary explores the growth of abolitionism in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky in the 1800s. The film focuses on events and discussions that occurred at Lane Theological Seminary in the Walnut Hills neighborhood of Cincinnati, as well as in Augusta, Kentucky, and other river communities. A 2025 production.

Author and outdoorsman Gurney Norman explores Eastern Kentucky's Big Sandy region, including its trails, its people, its history, and its rich literary heritage. A 1989 KET production.

Uncommon Vision: The Life and Times of John Howard Griffin

John Howard Griffin is best known as the white man who in 1959 disguised himself as a Black man and then traveled anonymously through the heart of the South. From his experiences he wrote Black Like Me. This film focuses on Griffin's social activism and examines how a spiritual commitment led him from a segregated childhood in Fort Worth to fighting with the French Underground, sustained him during ten years of blindness incurred by war injuries, and inspired him during a prolific creative life as a writer/photographer. A Morgan Atkinson production.

Abraham Lincoln in Illinois

Lincoln's life from 1830 to1860, beginning with his arrival at the log village of New Salem, Illinois, and ends with his election to the presidency thirty years later, is explored. Themes explored include that hard work and study is the path to achievement, and Lincoln's use of the Declaration of Independence, and its phrase "all men are created equal," to confront the expansion of slavery in the 1850s.
