The story of Belle Brezing, the Lexington Madam who ran a Victorian era brothel, is explored. The film details Brezing's journey from hardscrabble youth to the Baroness of the Brothel, while becoming the nearly undeniable inspiration for Belle Watling from "Gone with the Wind."

Kentucky to the World

Tony Moore

Artist Tony Moore is known for his work on The Walking Dead and The Exterminators and Fear Agent (which Amazon is adapting into a TV series) comic books, among others. He speaks with the University of Louisville's Dr. Joe Turner about growing up on his grandfather's farm in Cynthiana, Kentucky, his mother's influence, and becoming a comic book artist. Moore attended the University of Louisville's Hite Art Institute and has been nominated twice for the comics industry's prestigious Eisner Award. He is a Kentucky Colonel, one his most cherished honors, following in the footsteps of his grandfather. A 2020 Production.

The film chronicles the Kentucky city's founding and some of its most important moments and events. Beginning on the banks of Town Branch Creek, the documentary takes viewers on a sprawling historical journey that includes the Civil War, the Great Depression and World Wars, as well as the establishment of Transylvania University and the University of Kentucky, and features Henry Clay, Mary Todd Lincoln and other notable figures in the city's history.
