Governor and Legislative Leaders Announce Pension Plan Reforms
Saying the commonwealth will maintain the pension benefits promised to current public employees and retirees, Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin today outlined a plan for reforming the state’s beleaguered retirement systems.
House Speaker Jeff Hoover (R-Jamestown), Senate President Robert Stivers (R-Manchester), and Gov. Bevin said the proposal will fulfill all of the state’s legal and moral obligations, and resolve the unfunded liabilities in the pension plans within 30 to 40 years.
