Proposed State Pension Plan Reforms Announced

Governor and Legislative Leaders Announce Pension Plan Reforms

Saying the commonwealth will maintain the pension benefits promised to current public employees and retirees, Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin today outlined a plan for reforming the state’s beleaguered retirement systems.

House Speaker Jeff Hoover (R-Jamestown), Senate President Robert Stivers (R-Manchester), and Gov. Bevin said the proposal will fulfill all of the state’s legal and moral obligations, and resolve the unfunded liabilities in the pension plans within 30 to 40 years.
