As Max and Detective Rheinhardt search a hotel room for clues to their case, Amelia walks in, surprising Max. While Amelia goes about her work, searching the room for any traces of strychnine, Max attempts to engage Amelia in conversation as to why she is ignoring his letters for the past several months and refusing to go out on a date with him.
