To celebrate America's semiquincentennial, GBH Kids is producing a series of live action shorts and associated educational outreach kits called Awesome American Kids that celebrates what's awesome about this great country and the next generation of citizens who will help lead the way. GBH Kids, working with GBH Education and our National Audience Development and Station Services Group, is partnering with local public media stations to find real kids - one in 25 different states - to feature in short videos. The series introduces audiences to a wide range of kids and their unique geographies, customs, interests, skills, and experiences. Targeting kids ages 4 to 8, Awesome American Kids will join the catalogue of PBS KIDS content celebrating America's 250th anniversary and will help foster important civics knowledge and skills as well as love of country.
