NextGen TV now available for KET viewers in Northern Kentucky region

For Release: 06/05/23 12:39 PM

KET is pleased to announce that its NEXTGEN TV broadcast technology is now available to KET viewers who use an antenna in the Northern Kentucky region beginning June 5.

Also known as the ATSC 3.0, NEXTGEN TV is the latest innovation in free, over-the-airwaves television with a variety of enhancements including higher quality video and audio, more programming streams, better reception, the ability to offer built-in apps, enhanced accessibility and more.

If you are in the Northern Kentucky area and watch KET via antenna, you will need to rescan (please see instruction manual for your television) on or after June 5 to continue receiving the KET broadcast signal. This applies to whether you have a NEXTGEN TV-enabled device or not. Those who receive KET via cable or satellite do not need to do anything to continue receiving KET. More information is available at KET.org/Rescan.

Following the June 5 launch of NEXTGEN TV in Northern Kentucky, KET plans to continue rolling out the new broadcast technology in other regions across the Commonwealth.
