KET’s 33rd annual Summer Celebration takes a nostalgic trip back to the 1980s
For Release: 05/24/21 2:14 PM
KET celebrates more than a half-century of service to Kentucky at its 33rd annual Summer Celebration—where the event’s “I Want My KET” theme takes participants on a nostalgic trip back to the big hair and loud colors of the 1980s.
Held in accordance with safety protocols, KET’s summer fundraiser welcomes back friends, sponsors and volunteers to celebrate—together. Led by honorary chair Melanie Glasscock Simpson and hosted by Mira Ball at Donamire Farm in Lexington, Summer Celebration is scheduled for Saturday, June 12.
Everyone, everywhere is invited to browse the “Audacious Auction” via the mobile auction site. Featured items include UK basketball lower-arena season tickets, vacations, jewelry, furnishings, fine art and more than 200 bargains.
Bidding opens to the public on June 5. To place bids and to learn more about ticket availability, please visit KET.org/SummerCelebration.
KET thanks Harp Enterprises, the event’s premiere sponsor, as well as these community partners for their generous support: Alliance Coal, LLC; Alltech; Baird; Brotherton Brown Group at Morgan Stanley; Columbia Gas of Kentucky, Inc.; Hardscuffle; KV Oil & Gas; LG&E; and KU Energy, LLC.
KET is Kentucky’s largest classroom, where learning comes to life for more than one million people each week via television, online and mobile. Learn more about Kentucky’s preeminent public media organization at KET.org, on Twitter @KET and at facebook.com/KET.
