KET’s 10th Annual Be My Neighbor Day in Louisville celebrates giving back to the community

KET, in partnership with Fred Rogers Productions and PNC Grow Up Great, invites children and families to the 10thannual Be My Neighbor Day on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at E.P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park in Louisville from 12 pm to 3 pm.
This free family event builds upon the values and themes of Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, introducing children to community helpers and caring neighbors while helping them learn about the importance of giving back to the community.
Be My Neighbor Day features a wide range of engaging, educational activities, including:
• Daniel Tiger meet & greet
• Community helper stations with first responders, librarians and more
• Fire truck, helicopter, trolley and LG&E-KU High Voltage Trailer
• Arts and crafts stations
• Puppy visits with Kentucky Humane Society
• Healthy snacks plus a book and backpack for every child
Help KET give back to our community! In tribute to Mister Rogers’ legacy, please bring a new or gently used sweater for our sweater drive collection. At the event, your family can help assemble goody bags with KET-provided after-school snacks, activities and school supplies for the children served by the Backside Learning Center at Churchill Downs.
