‘Kentucky Life’ spotlights Owensboro filmmakers, Forgotten Veterans, historical sites

For Release: 04/16/26 9:47 AM

Viewers of this week’s Kentucky Life will quickly go from aww! to ahh! as host Chip Polston interviews Forgotten Veterans, an organization that identifies unclaimed veterans’ remains so they can be buried with full military honors. Then, he visits Scary Good: The Heart Behind Horror, two filmmakers who delight in frightening their audiences.

Moving away from jump scares and monsters, Chip heads to Fort Boonesborough in Madison County, one of Kentucky’s earliest American settlements founded in 1775 by Daniel Boone. He learns the history of the site and how it was used in the early frontier period.

Kentucky Life ends the episode in Lexington’s Public Square, learning how it served as the focal point of the town, and city planners in the 1780s designed the rest of Lexington around the square.
