KET’s long-running music series Jubilee spotlights the talents of bluegrass superstar and Eastern Kentucky native Dale Ann Bradley, who has won the coveted International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Female Vocalist of the Year Award five times—in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2012. The new episode, featuring Bradley’s performance in Lexington at the 2014 Best of the Bluegrass Festival, airs Tuesday, Sept. 8 at 8/7 pm on KET2 and Thursday, Sept. 10 at  midnight/11 pm on KET.

Early on, Bradley’s angelic yet forceful voice drew initial favorable comparisons to the likes of Dolly Parton or Alison Krauss. But as her IBMA honors, critical acclaim and a widespread fan base have grown over the years, Bradley has firmly established her own name on the list of bluegrass’s all-time best female performers.

Originally performing as part of the New Coon Creek Girls as their guitarist and lead singer, Bradley launched her solo debut in 1997 with her album East Kentucky Morning. Her more recent releases include Don’t Turn Your Back (2009), Somewhere South of Crazy (2011) and Pocket Full of Keys (2015).

Not one to rest on her laurels, Bradley continues to rake in critical accolades, having been nominated for both the 2015 IBMA Female Vocalist of the Year Award and the 2015 SPBGMA (Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America) Traditional Female Vocalist of the Year Award.

Bradley’s Jubilee performance features hits including “Long Lonesome Road,” “Our Last Goodbye” and “Over My Head.” Backing up Bradley’s powerhouse vocals is the The Dale Ann Bradley Band, which includes musicians Phil Leadbetter, Scott Powers, Stuart Wyrick, Brian Turner and Steve Gulley.
