‘Child Abuse and Neglect: A KET Special Report’ examines child abuse in Kentucky
For Release: 03/20/23 9:03 AM
Kentucky ranks fifth in the nation for the number of reported child abuse and neglect cases, according to federal data. And a recent report by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services suggests that 17 out of every 1,000 children in the state experience some form of child mistreatment.
This KET special report, hosted by Renee Shaw, examines the difficult topic of child abuse and neglect in the Commonwealth. The program presents stories from those whose lives have been upended by mistreatment and examines the challenges and possible solutions to protecting Kentucky’s children.
