During World War II, several P-38 fighter planes ran low on fuel and crash-landed on the Greenland ice cap. More than 50 years later, an aviation enthusiast from Middlesboro dug out one of the planes, dubbed Glacier Girl, and brought it back home to Kentucky in hopes that it could be made to fly again.
