Growing up in Pakistan, Dr. S. Amjad Hussain always dreamed of exploring the Indus River. Between 1987 and 1996, the respected surgeon and newspaper columnist undertook a series of journeys to the Indus-culminating in a trek through the stunning vistas of the Pakistani mountains and Arabian Sea, with his sons and some American friends along for company, to locate its source high in the Tibetan Himalayas.
