Citizen Kurchatov: Stalin's Bomb Maker

American J. Robert Oppenheimer is renowned for directing the creation of the world's first atomic bomb, but his Russian counterpart, Igor Vasilevich Kurchatov, has remained a mystery. While building the bomb for Russia, Kurchatov walked a knife's edge between glory and the gulag. He survived Stalin, but later developed a troubled conscience over his creations.
