For Release: 08/22/25 11:54 AM
FOR RELEASE: August 22, 2025
KET was recently awarded $30,000 from the Steele-Reese Foundation. The grant will be used to expand access to high-quality, hands-on learning experiences for students in Appalachian counties by supporting the implementation of KET’s on-location Media Lab workshops. With transportable technology, KET proposes to bring the same workshops offered in the Lexington Network Center Media Lab directly to school locations in Appalachian counties, offsetting the hindrances of student transportation costs and lost instructional time.
Continuing KET’s mission of providing educational access to all Kentuckians, the KET Media Lab, with support from the Steele-Reese Foundation, will help bridge the gap in underserved Appalachian communities by providing equitable access to opportunities for skill development through technology and media-focused projects.
