The Catholic Media Association recently recognized KET’s Becoming bell hooks as part of its 59^th annual Gabriel Awards. The Awards spotlight artistic excellence that embodies a profound vision of humanity and true vision of life.

Becoming bell hooks explores the life and legacy of the Kentucky-born author who wrote more than 35 books and whose work at the intersection of race, class and gender serves as a lasting contribution to the feminist movement. The documentary was produced by Sarah Moyer and Elon Justice and executive produced by Shae Hopkins and Nancy Southgate.
