KET has announced the relocation of its Louisville offices and production studio to the American Life Building at 471 West Main Street. The move will allow the statewide public television network to improve its facilities and enhance productions featuring more of Louisville’s unique people, places and culture.
The James Graham Brown Foundation provided a grant of $1 million to help support the expansion of KET’s operations in Louisville, including construction of a production studio and facilities located on the first floor of the American Life Building.
“This funding is a pivotal investment in the future of KET’s services for Greater Louisville and the Commonwealth,” said Shae Hopkins, KET’s executive director and CEO. “We are grateful for the James Graham Brown Foundation’s generous lead gift and the support of others who are helping to make these facilities possible. This move is a tremendous step forward for KET and the more than 2 million people we serve each week. And we are so pleased to have found such a wonderful location in the iconic American Life Building and to keep our Louisville operations in the heart of the city.”
Additional support is being provided by The Gheens Foundation, Henry V. Heuser, Jr., and Austin and Jane Musselman. To support future productions, KET is seeking funding to help make more programs about and for Louisville possible. More information is available at KET.org/Louisville.
KET’s offices will open later this summer, as work continues on the new production control rooms and studio.
