Kentucky Ex-Smokers Share Their Success Stories
In this bonus material from KET’s 30-minute documentary Calling It Quits: Real Help to Stop Smoking, five people from Russell County who quit smoking with the help of tobacco cessation classes share their success stories.
Calling It Quits presents an overview of these evidence-based services and interviews several tobacco control experts who explain how receiving nicotine from cigarettes leads to a chronic addiction. The program also explores the main forms of behavioral counseling – group, telephone and individual – as well as the seven FDA-approved medications for tobacco cessation.
