Saturday September 28, 2024 @ 4:00 pm 6:00 pm EDT

Join us!

Join us at the Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History for a special screening of Secrets of the Dead: The Civil War’s Lost Massacre. This new episode, which was co-produced by KET, investigates an incident from Kentucky history known as the “Simpsonville Massacre,” when 22 Civil War-era soldiers from the 5th US Colored Cavalry on a cattle drive to a Louisville slaughterhouse were ambushed and slain by outlaws.

KET’s Secrets of the Dead film screening is free to attend, however, the Kentucky Historical Society’s Civil War History Day event is ticketed with a fee. Guests may attend the film screening without attending the full History Day event.

The event is free but seating is limited and reservations are required using the form below.

Funding for Secrets of the Dead: The Civil War’s Lost Massacre is made possible in part by the KET Millenium Fund.
