SUMMARY:2020 Virtual Summer Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Though we could not celebrate in person this year…the party continued! From June 1-6\, we flashed back to favorite Summer Celebration “Greatest Hits” and mixed some awesome playlists for everyone to share. Choice online auction bargains remain through June 19.\n\nFrom all of us at KET—several pictured healthy-at-home—we thank you for participating. Through your combined efforts and the generosity of rock star sponsors who stuck with us this year\, our first Virtual Party netted $156\,000 in support of KET programs and services!\n\n\nOf course more than a fun party\, Summer Celebration is our largest single-day source of funds that gives KET the flexibility to respond to citizen and community needs:\n\n 	KET produced Kentucky’s first COVID-19 forum and ongoing updates\, and provides live coverage and the feed for all networks of Gov. Beshear’s press conferences.\n 	KET has always equalized education through the power of media\, and both on air and online use of our free at-home teaching and learning resources jumped 218% last month alone.\n 	Especially during times of struggle\, KET’s services give voice to all people\, deepen understanding about fairness and respect\, and provide forums for important—sometimes difficult—conversations about the path forward.\n 	For an escape\, KET transports us out of our homes and around the world with compelling stories\, entertainment and discovery. More than one million people rely on KET each week for education and inspiration.\n\nThanks to friends like you who don’t stop believin’ in what television can and should be\, KET has always been a trusted\, transformational force in learning\, culture and citizenship.\n\nWe hope you will join us next year when the 33rd annual Summer Celebration re-tunes “I Want My KET” on Saturday\, June 12\, 2021…and we can celebrate again – together.\n\n\n\nAnd – thanks to you! – we have head start on next year’s Summer Celebration!
