SUMMARY:A free virtual screening of POV: Portraits and Dreams
DESCRIPTION:You’re invited to a special screening of a new documentary from POV called “Portraits and Dreams”. \nThirty-five years ago\, photographer Wendy Ewald published the book\, Portraits and Dreams: Photographs and Stories by Children of the Appalachians\, a collaboration between her and her Letcher County students. She asked them to photograph the things closest to them\, including their hopes and dreams. “It opened up a whole new way of making pictures for them\,” she said. \nIn “Portraits and Dreams\,” a new film from Appalshop\, Ewald returns to Eastern Kentucky to visit her former students. \nYou’re invited to a virtual film screening on Thursday\, September 17 at 7pm (6pm CT).
