- Electronic Field Trip to the Mountain Homeplace
- At the Mountain Homeplace, an interpretive working farm in Paintsville, reenactors show what life was like for settlers in the mid-19th century. This 1999 KET production, designed for upper elementary, middle, and high school students, explores what daily life was like in the era and how people crafted many necessities by hand. Topics include school and church customs, the work of blacksmiths and other artisans, folk dances and traditional music, and daily at-home chores.

- Lane Linnenkohl of the Kentucky State Nature Preserves Commission takes host Dave Shuffett out to explore Three Ponds, the only Kentucky nature preserve that borders the Mississippi River. Dave also takes some treasures to the visiting Antiques Roadshow in Louisville and introduces a tour of Cub Run Cave in Hart County. A 2008 KET production.

- A visit to the Goggin family farm in Boyle County explores how cattle are bred, raised, and cared for; how cows are able to digest grass; and what life on a cattle farm is like. A 1997 co-production of KET and the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture.

- A tour of the Thomas family's farm in Elizabethtown, a family enterprise where the kids have major responsibilities in the farming operation, for a look at how pigs are raised. Topics of discussion include right-to-farm laws, urban encroachment on farmland, animal waste disposal, pigs' intelligence and behavior, and what it's like to grow up on a farm. A 1997 co-production of KET, the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture, and the Kentucky Farm Bureau.

- KET's Dave Shuffett, a student co-host, and members of the Kentuckiana Geological Society explore Kentucky rock formations in search of fossils, minerals, and interesting rock specimens. Along the way, they also introduce a variety of earth science topics, including the cycle of rock formation and erosion; how fossils are created; and the uses people make of various minerals, including the brilliantly colored Kentucky agate.
