We are Kentucky’s public television network, but our vision takes us far beyond just television or computer screen. These are merely the tools we use to deliver resources to Kentucky. KET is really about ideas—about learning, the arts and culture, and citizenship. We work each day to use television and related media for the benefit of everyone in Kentucky.
Celebrating 40 Years
KET has now been helping Kentuckians explore Kentucky and the world for 40 years, and it’s an occasion for both looking back and looking ahead. In these pages, you’ll find an interview with founding director O. Leonard Press about the vision behind the creation of KET as well as a timeline of our history. Looking forward to an exciting new era, Executive Director Mac Wall reflects on how the completion of our transition to digital technology opens up new worlds of possibility for meeting Kentucky’s needs and educating, informing, and inspiring our diverse audiences.
